Before starting lessons with Rich, I had been learning to drive for about five years on and off. Driving instructors that I had tried in the past had shook my confidence and made me think that I wasn’t ready to take my test. I started lessons with Rich just three or four weeks before my test date with the hope that he would be able to tell me whether my goal was realistic and if I would be able to pass my test. I feel that in those few lessons we had in the build up to my test my driving had a complete turn around. I got my confidence back and I actually enjoyed driving again. The thing I found most beneficial during our lessons was being able to ask questions about driving and test itself. No matter how big or small Rich would always answer to the best of his ability. I liked that the lessons didn’t have a strict guidelines and that it was up to me to decide what I would like to do, whether that be a mock test, a manoeuvre focused session or a simple drive around to gain confidence in my abilities. I felt as though the lessons were more centred around giving me tools and tips on how to drive rather than just focusing on passing my driving test. This made the test a lot less scary to me as it really just told me that as long as I drive safely, I was comfortable with the manoeuvres and I knew the gist of the show me tell me questions, I would have no issue passing my driving test. It’s also made the transition after passing my test to driving alone feel like a breeze because I had already been driving as if I passed my test with Rich. Well done Mia. A great drive with just the one driving fault.
