A massive thank you to Tony who was the first driving instructor that allowed me to combat my fears of driving and pass my test. I am forever grateful to have been taught by such a dedicated, professional and reflective instructor. His subject knowledge is exceptional. At all times, I felt safe yet challenged and this is due to Tony’s lesson structure and confidence in making progress. Tony’s teaching style was extremely effective as he balanced patience with assertiveness in a way that grew independence yet ensured the transfer of skills. Tony was able to give praise and direction clearly in a way that was effective and fostered an impactful learning environment. He was reflective on his role and adapted his teaching accordingly to great effect. The [LDC Driving Skills] workbook was extremely well planned and formatted. Organisational features such as the headings, chapters, and sections differentiated by colours made it easy to use. Each page’s content was well considered, concise and supported by clear diagrams. Where necessary, more complex concepts were decomposed into smaller steps which allowed for quick grasping of the content. The opportunity to plan and reflect on lessons was vital in my learning process as it ensured maximum value from my lesson time and that I was focused on my strengths and weaknesses throughout the process. The tuition vehicle was always pristine and extremely well maintained throughout my lessons. On a test day it would be in immaculate condition. Tony kept the upmost professionalism throughout my driving lessons: he dressed smartly; used appropriate language and tone; arrived punctually; and communicated with promptness and confidence.
