I came to Phil having had 2 previous instructors, having not driven for almost 3 years, and with 4 previous failed driving tests behind me. It was fair to say I felt I would never be able to pass my driving test. Although I appreciated that I could drive, I felt that passing the test itself was an impossible task that I would never be able to overcome.
After my first 2 hour lesson with Phil I knew that he wasn't like my previous instructors. He put me at ease, was extremely reassuring, and allowed me to make mistakes without making me feel stupid. I came home that day feeling like there was a light at the end of the tunnel.
Phil provided a completely individual driving lesson, tailored to my learning style and needs. He answered any questions I had in a manner that was easy to understand and ensured I learnt how to drive and not just how to pass the test.
Four months later and I have now passed my test (second time with Phil) with 4 minors. I no longer carry around the fear of constantly 'doing it wrong' but not knowing how to do it right. I understand now that there isn't a magic formula to passing your driving test or being a confident, competent driver. A little bit of self-belief and Phil's helping hand was all it took, and I can't possibly thank him enough.
