I contacted Dave after finding his details online. I checked out his web page and after reading Dave's profile, I decided to give him a call to discuss how I could learn to drive.

I needed to learn pretty quick so discussed various options with Dave and he suggested an assessment lesson to see how much I knew. I had only had 4 lessons previously and the last one was over 10 years ago, but Dave picked me up from my house and let me drive to the station which is about 10 minutes away. Straight away I had confidence in him as an instructor because I like the way he just had confidence in me to let me get behind the wheel with very limited driving experience.

We decided on 20 lessons as a starting point and to see how it went, with the option of paying for more lessons if needed, or taking back some if not needed. The lessons were booked into his diary with Dave being very flexible on dates, times, lengths the lesson and where the lesson started from.

The first few lessons I learned the basics, but it was not all start, stop, start stop, I actually drove and every mistake I made, Dave made me do it again until I got it right, which definitely helped me and my confidence. Within 12 lessons I was confident and then it was a case of ironing a few techniques issues out before I put in for my test.

Before my test I had an hour's lesson and Dave reinforced everything I had learnt and reinforced the confidence he had in me. I passed on May 4th 2012 and can't thank Dave enough for his dedication, and confidence that he had in me and the way he taught me how to drive.

On Dave's statement he mentions "My intention is to make every lesson as enjoyable and productive as possible, and my lessons are always conducted in a calm, friendly and relaxed manner, as I firmly believe in making my pupils feel at ease during every lesson"...... This is a true testament of Dave's teaching skills and I would highly recommend him to anyone who is learning to drive. It was refreshing to find someone who understands your needs.
